Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 August 2026
1. Who we are
kiko is a concierge dating service operating in Sydney, Australia. kiko is run by Jydeon. In these terms, we, us and kiko mean Jydeon operating the kiko service, and you means the person using kiko.
You can reach us at safety@kiko.jydeon.com.
2. What kiko does
kiko is not a swiping app. You give us information about yourself and what you are looking for. A person on our team — a human matchmaker — reads your profile and hand-picks who you are matched with. We then propose a specific date: a time and a venue. If you both accept, the date is on and we tell you both by SMS.
Before you meet, the other person sees only your first name, your age, your gender and an AI-generated cartoon of your face. They do not see your real photos. The first real look is in person.
3. You must be 18 or over
kiko is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We ask for your date of birth during signup and the app rejects a date of birth that makes you under 18. We do not verify your identity or your age against any document — we rely on what you tell us. If we find out you are under 18, we will deactivate your account.
4. Your account
- You sign in with your Australian mobile number and a one-time code we text you. Later in signup we also verify an email address the same way.
- Anyone who can receive codes on your phone number can get into your account. Keep your phone and your number secure.
- One account per person. Do not create an account for someone else or pretend to be someone else.
- A sign-in lasts up to 60 days before you need to verify again.
5. Be accurate
The service only works if what you tell us is true. Give us your real first name, your real date of birth, your real photos and honest answers about what you want. Some details — your first name, date of birth, gender, orientation, height and postcode — are locked once you finish signup. Email us if something needs correcting.
6. Photos and your cartoon
- You can upload up to five photos. They must be photos of you, and you must have the right to use them.
- You choose one photo as your match photo. That photo is sent to Google's Gemini service, which generates the cartoon that your matches see. This means your face leaves kiko's systems and is processed by Google. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.
- You give us permission to store your photos, to send your match photo to Google to create the cartoon, and to show the cartoon to people we match you with. You keep ownership of your photos.
- No nudity, no sexual content, no photos of other people without their knowledge, and no images you did not take or do not have rights to.
7. Meeting people is at your own risk
We do not run background checks, criminal history checks or identity verification on anyone using kiko. A human on our team reviews profiles and picks matches, but that is a judgement about compatibility, not a safety guarantee.
Meet in a public place. Tell a friend where you are going and when. Arrange your own transport. Trust your instincts and leave if you feel uncomfortable.
You are responsible for your own safety and your own conduct on a date. If something happens on a kiko date that you think we should know about, email safety@kiko.jydeon.com. In an emergency, call 000.
8. How you must behave
- No harassment, abuse, threats, hate speech or discrimination.
- No impersonating anyone, including us.
- Do not pass on another user's information — their name, cartoon or anything they tell you — to anyone else, or publish it.
- No commercial use: no advertising, recruiting, soliciting money or promoting anything.
- No attempts to break, scrape, overload or get unauthorised access to the service.
- Turn up to dates you have accepted, or cancel in the app so the other person is not left waiting.
9. Messages we send you
By signing up you agree that we can send you SMS messages. These are essential to the service: your sign-in codes, and messages telling you about a match, a confirmed date or a cancelled date. Match messages include the other person's first name and age, and the time and venue of the date. Standard carrier charges may apply. You cannot opt out of these while your account is active — if you do not want them, delete your account.
10. Cost
kiko is currently free. There is no payment feature in the app today. If we ever start charging, we will tell you before it applies to you.
11. Deleting your account
You can delete your account from the app at any time. When you do, your account is switched off immediately: you are removed from matching and your details are no longer shown to anyone. Your record and your uploaded photos are not automatically erased at that moment — our Privacy Policy explains exactly what happens and how to ask us to erase everything.
12. When we can suspend or close your account
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if you are under 18, if we believe you are putting other people at risk, or if you give us false information. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.
13. The service is early and provided as-is
kiko is a new and small service. We do not promise that you will be matched, that you will be matched within any particular time, that any match will be a good one, or that the service will always be available or error-free. We may change or stop features.
14. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement. Those rights apply on top of these terms.
Beyond those rights, we are not responsible for what other users do or say, on a date or otherwise, and we are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by SMS or email before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
16. Law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts of New South Wales have jurisdiction.
